Here’s why website design is even more important than you might think

A study by website builder and web hosting company Squarespace found that having an online presence is high on the priority list for Gen Z and Millennials.

Squarespace has partnered with The Harris Poll to survey more than 2,000 American adults to learn about the role of websites in everyday life and how well they are remembered.

Among the many findings, the report found that about one in two Americans (49%) remembered the color of a website better than the color of someone’s eyes – and 71% of Millennials and 58% Generation Z agree.

About 60% of Gen Z and 62% of Millennials think how you present yourself online is more important than how you present yourself in person.

Interestingly, the results also found that Gen Z are more likely to remember the last website visited (43%) than their partner’s birthday (38%) or their social security number (31%). .

In addition, almost half (44%) of Gen Z and 39% of Gen Y say they make a better impression online than in person, compared to 21% of Gen X and 8% of Baby Boomers.

“Americans crawl over 3,000 websites a year, and our research shows that the things we see online can make a more lasting impression than the things we see in person,” said Kinjil Mathur, director of marketing at Squarespace. .

“That’s why it’s so important to create a well-designed presence through all the things you do on the web.”
